Senator Ringuette moves motion to call on Senate to address temporary foreign workers program abuse

 

Yesterday, Senator Pierrette Ringuette moved a motion to have the Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science, and Technology address the possible of abuse of the temporary foreign workers program, by companies such as RBC and iGate, in order to hire cheaper temporary foreign workers over qualified Canadians.

 

In addition, the motion asks the committee to review the criteria and procedures related to the program to ensure that the program works for Canadians and not against them and to ensure effective interdepartmental procedures and responsibilities related to the program.
