Senator Ringuette was selected to be a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce

Today, Senator Ringuette was selected to be a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce. As one of twelve members sitting on the Committee, she will be the only voice representing the citizens of New Brunswick.

“Trade and Commerce are some of the most important areas of New Brunswick’s economy and are some of the sectors that employ the largest numbers of our citizens. That is why I strongly believe it is important to be a member of this Committee, in order to give a voice to the citizens of New Brunswick.” stated Senator Ringuette.

The mandate of the Committee is to examine legislation and matters relating to finance and business. The Committee has a history of reviewing legislation on financial institutions and budgetary and commercial matters, like International and Interprovincial Trade.

“International and Interprovincial Trade is a really important matter for New Brunswick since foreign and inter-provincial exports together represent almost 75% of New Brunswick's GDP, which is the highest among provinces in Canada” declared Senator Ringuette
